OFA FLOOD STARS

Oxford Flood Alliance’s ‘Flood Stars’ are people who have done something extra in relation to flooding in the local community. Keith Hutchence of the Environment Agency was our Star in 2010. In 2011 the award went to Paul Kirkley of Oxford City Council.

Keith Hutchence's award recognises the skills and commitment he has brought to his role in keeping communications between the authorities and the community (including OFA!) open and active, making cooperative working a reality. Such cooperation is recognised, by ourselves and the authorities alike, as being vital in flood risk reduction. Keith's work has been of great benefit to this process.

Paul Kirkley works as an engineer for Oxford City. His professional skills, commitment, and cooperative way of working have been instrumental in turning ideas into practical flood relief projects - projects which will help many residents escape the miseries of flooding.
